On January 24, 1927, Time magazine put the disembodied head of someone alleged to be Richard Strauss on its cover.

So the question is: who bamboozled Time's cover artist by claiming to be Richard Strauss? I vote for a time-traveling Ian Richardson.

Hmm. It sure looks like Strauss to me. Maybe the eyebrows on the drawing are a big odd, but the other basic features are still there. I imagine that the drawing was done a few years before the photograph.
I see a bit of John Barrymore in there.
I was going to say Richard Dreyfuss (sp?)
